Are you an Amazing Race addict or do you love scavenger hunts? You
can have your own scavenger hunt adventure on August 23, 2008 in downtown
Fort Lauderdale. The first annual Get a Clue for a Cause will
be more than just a chance to get together, have a good time, and
compete for prizes. You can do all of that and feel good about helping
support the World Food Program (WFP) in the fight against global hunger.
For this year’s hunt, teams of 3-5 people will pound the
pavement around downtown Fort Lauderdale thinking quickly to decode
clues that will lead them to find unique items, various checkpoints
and related information. Afterwards party with us at one of Fort
Lauderdale’s best bars, America’s Backyard. Enjoy open
bar and free food from 8-9 pm; prizes will be awarded at 9, but
stay as long as you like!
The Basics
The team which arrives first with the most points
will be awarded bragging rights as Get a Clue for a Cause champions
and win an outstanding prize pack! Prizes will also be awarded to
the 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Get creative to win the categories
“best team name”, "best team outfit" and "most
original answer".
Sign up individually or as a team; all you need is a pair of comfortable
shoes, a digital camera, a cell phone, and $25. $25 is the entry
fee per person which will go into the jackpot to benefit the WFP;
the digital camera is to prove you’ve found items in your
clue packet; and the cell phone is to call your friends for help.
You don’t have to be from Fort Lauderdale to participate,
but it will help to have someone who knows Fort Lauderdale trivia
on speed dial.
Mix up your regular Saturday routine with a little something different,
and register to participate in Get a Clue for a Cause to
support the WFP. Whether you are new to the area or lived here your
entire life, it’s a great chance to support a global charity
while meeting new people and getting to know what Fort Lauderdale
has to offer. One thing you can count on is you will never see this
town the same way again

*Advance tickets sold online until August 20th. Registration
on or before August 8th guarantees an event T-shirt. Extra T-shirts
will be given to all other participants on a first come first serve
basis. .
**Canned goods will be donated to a food bank in Broward County.
Volunteers/Sponsors
We are seeking people to volunteer their time on the day of the
event. From signing people in and collecting liability waivers to
supervising the contestants along the route, it takes several volunteers
to ensure Get a Clue for a Cause is a success. If you
